Un-Fashion at FACC space

We’re at the end of our Ashley Family Fund grant and so we’re celebrating and sharing our achievements with a little exhibition and free workshops.

We have been gifted the lovely, cosy space run by the Future Arts Collective Cymru. There’s an exhibition of flax to linen upstairs, including the amazing dioramas by Martine Brown and the Making and Mending Club at Global Gardens.

Friday 13th 5-8pm

Space opening with flax nibbles. 6.30 for Q & A session hosted by Global Gardens.

Saturday 14th 11-5pm

Making sustainable winter decorations. All welcome and materials provided.

Wednesday 18th 12-5pm

Making and Mending Club: Needle felting with wool.

Thursday 19th 12-5

Mending station open. Bring in your holey clothes to mend.

Friday 20th 12-5 pm

Flax to linen demonstration. Cat will talk through the linen process and you’ll be able to have a go and make some cord.

Saturday 21st 11-5pm

BarbiKen fashion makeover using scrap and sustainable textiles.

Other times by appointment – contact us on mnm@catlewis.com

Downstairs will be a cosy space for guided making and mending, with textile supplies, a sewing machine, spinning tools, flax equipment and lots of samples. It’s also a space for thinking and having conversations about alternative futures, where a healthy planet and population are primary.

Come and join the textiles revolution.
